Cat Friendly Clinic

St Runwalds is an accredited cat friendly clinic having attained the Silver status ISFM Cat Friendly Clinic accreditation.

We recognise that because of their unique nature and needs, taking a cat to a veterinary clinic can be very stressful, both for the cat and also the owner.

That is why we pay particular attention to the needs of our feline friends including:-

  • Adhering to Silver status ISFM Cat Friendly Clinic guidelines.
  • Unique cat only consultation times.
  • Separate cat kennels with environmental enrichment.
  • Nominated “Cat Advocates” - Sarah, Lindsey, Eric and Rose.

The practice also runs a KITTEN LOYALTY SCHEME so when you bring a new kitten for their first vaccination and free health check with one of our veterinary surgeons, please be sure to ask about the scheme. It is designed to help save you money on for example neutering* and allows you to claim certain free products*, there is no joining fee, all you need to do is to bring your card along to the practice each time you visit and purchase certain items to qualify for the rewards. After your first annual booster further savings can be made in your pets second year.

* please note purchases have to be made within a certain period of time.

What our clients say about our cat friendly clinic

“I think the new area is splendid! Such a good idea!"
“Fantastic waiting area, really like the idea of the table to put your cat carrier on so they are not on the floor and feel more secure higher up.”
“The cat waiting area is a wonderful idea. It saves such a lot of stress for our cat family who are all street cats from Spain. Thank you so much!”
“We love the introduction of the 'cat waiting room' as it provides a dedicated dog free space” - Lynda Whitehead

“My cat is particularly fearful. It's great that she can sit apart from the dogs. Many thanks!” - Jes Fernie
“This is the second time I've used the cat waiting area and it's a very good idea. Ollie tends to be nervous when he visits here but more so if dogs are visable. Now all calm. Thank you.” - Linda Brightmore
“Brilliant idea, less stressful for my cat. I especially like the table in the cat waiting area as they are off the ground and have better, safer visability of their surroundings” - Jo Norrish
“Your cat waiting area is such a good idea and very thoughtful of you” - Julia Butkus
“Our cats really appreciated being able to look out of the window in the cat waiting area- it calmed down two noisy cats!” - Mr and Mrs Boughton
