What our clients say
Anita took over the clinical leadership of the practice in December 1996 from Mr H Coryn who had a long standing veterinary career in Colchester.
Anita had worked in general mixed practice previously and then in a solely small animal first opinion clinic in Essex. It was always her intention to carry on St Runwald’s as a single centre practice offering personalised care and an approachable service for both patients and their owners.
The practice has continued to embrace changes in small animal medicine having modern in house diagnostic facilities and ensuring continued professional development of its staff.
There have been many changes including moving from the 60-40 large/small animal case load to solely a dedicated small animal practice.
Considerable refurbishment has been undertaken and we now proudly have new designated cat and dog kennels, separate cat consulting periods and a cat advocate team recognising the individual specific requirements for the pets we treat. We have also been awarded silver status from ISFM (International Society of Feline Medicine) for our feline patient care and facilities.
Our wide range of modern diagnostic facilities enable a thorough work up of cases and treatments at a local level whilst identifying cases where patients require referral to specialist hospital centres.
Over many years of being at St Runwald’s, Anita has had the pleasure of meeting and treating many memorable patients and equally seeing subsequent members of their respective families acquire their own pets. "My aim is to provide the standard of care of animals I would wish to be offered to my own and through the support of my colleagues we always strive to achieve this goal".
